Chapter 22

Last week I shared with you the truth about speaking in tongues. James said in Ja. 1:17,

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning!

Peter told the Jews in Acts 2:38 that if they would repent and be baptized, they would receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Lord told Israel in Isaiah 28:11,

"With stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.  To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith you may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not listen.

There is a reason for every gift the Lord gives to you! Speaking in tongues edifies you. Paul said in 1 Cor. 14:4,

"He that speaks in an unknown tongue edifies himself."

There are probably millions of languages and dialects. In 1981 I preached at an Assembly of God church in Zurich, Switzerland and was translated in what they called High German. Most of them didn't understand me as I spoke in WV English and I didn't understand the interpreter when he repeated what I just said in High German. The only problem we ran into was when I used the word 'acorn'. He could not translate it into German and neither could the pastor who spoke English. So, I changed the word to 'seed' and they could interpret that. However, we had a great meeting and had a lot of ministry to the many people who came forward.

I was in South Africa in 1980 and attended a Full Gospel Businessmen's meeting and there were several languages spoken there. I learned part of a song sang in Zulu. There was a tribal choir there that kept singing that song.Paul said in 1 Cor. 14:10-11,

"There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification. Therefore, if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaks a barbarian, and he that speaks shall be a barbarian unto me."

Paul was talking about when we come together to worship. He said not to speak in tongues unless there was someone that could interpret. Just like when I was in Zurich. I could have had the greatest anointed lesson in the world and the people would not have understood what the Lord was saying to them.

This is why we have to learn to discern the Holy Spirit that lives within us. Paul said in Romans 8:14,

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." 

Notice, he did not say children of God! If you are mature enough in the Lord to recognize when the Holy Spirit is leading you; you are well on the way to becoming a son of God. John wrote in John 1:12,

"As many as received him, to them he gave the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name!" 

All Christians have the power, which is the Holy Spirit, to become a mature son of God! However, we must learn to be led by the Spirit of God that lives within us. It will help you to do this if you will learn to thank the Lord for everything that comes your way! It is so easy to do. Just say, "Thank you Jesus!" If it is something bad, thank the Lord that He is giving you an opportunity to be an overcomer by declaring what His word says about it!

Speaking in tongues will help you to be aware of the Holy Spirits leading. As your spirit grows in the Lord so will your ability to discern His leadership. This is why it is so important for us to mature in the Lord!

Why is it so important for us to mature in the Lord? Peter said in I Peter 5:8, (NIV)

"Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."

Paul said in Eph. 6:12-13,

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."

We are not in a warfare with people! Paul also said in 2 Cor. 5:16, (KJV)

"Wherefore, henceforth, know we no man after the flesh: even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now, henceforth, know we him no more." 

(NIV)

"So, from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer."

I have shared with you about the evil controlling spirits that are prevalent in the USA. The same spirit that infused Jezebel is gaining control of women that don't know the Lord. She is running rampant in the congress of the USA. The spirit that controlled Ahab is running rampant in our young people and those he controls are flooding our nation with anarchy!

You might say, "Well how did they gain control of these people?" Various ways, but mostly by what they listen to. The corrupt news media is spewing out fake news and even a lot of Christians believe it; that's how they gain control of us. Proverbs 23:7 says,

"For as he thinks in his heart, so is he:"

When we allow the world to fill our hearts and minds with blasphemy and all manner of lies, distortions, and untruths, we are giving these evil spirits access to our minds. Jesus said in Matt. 12:34-35,

"O generation of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil things." 

This is why we need to guard our hearts about what we listen to. The only safe way we can do this, is by filling our minds with the word of God and then declaring it to those we come in contact with.

There is a great movement in the USA today to cause fear to control people. From all the negative news of the corona virus, the blown-up version of shootings, the anarchy of riots and the attempt to dismantle our police departments are all designed to cause fear and confusion. The attempt to take away our guns, etc.

It all adds up to an attempt to overthrow the standards we have had in this great nation based upon the word of God.

When Donald Trump began to declare that if elected president, he would restore the things that made America great and he would empty the swamp in DC, all hell broke loose. The evil spirits that were controlling many in congress begin to manifest themselves. We have the leadership of one National Political Party that will do anything that they think will cause Donald Trump to be defeated in this upcoming election. No matter how corrupt the method requires. Any mature Christian is able to discern the evil that is manipulating that Party.

In Matt. 8:28-29 we read,

"When he arrived at the other side in the region of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men coming from the tombs met him. They were so violent that no one could pass that way. 'What do you want with us, Son of God?" they shouted. "Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?"

The point that I want to make is that when evil spirits come into the presence of the anointed one of the Lord, they will manifest themselves and out of their mouths will come evil!

Other than God, the sons of God are the only people on earth with Kingdom authority, that, of course, includes His mature daughters! Satan can only do what we allow Him to do! That is why it is so important for us to guard what comes out of our mouths! We have the power to call things that be not as though they were and it shall come to pass. We also can empower our enemy by what we say!

This upcoming election will determine if our nation will continue to be the light of the world or will our light go out! You need to go before the Lord and seek His will about this election. The prophets, without number, are declaring that it is the will of our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ that Donald Trump will serve another term as President of the USA and appoint a conservative woman to the Supreme Court.

Will His will come to pass? Yes, however, we can bring it to pass by agreeing with Him and getting out and voting!

It is also His will that His Holy Spirit to be poured out with the results of millions coming to know Jesus as their savior!
