What Really Happened on The Cross?

In the coming days and months I want to ask you some questions in the hope of stirring up your pure minds to the reality of what we believe the eternal plan and purpose of God is and where we fit into this plan. For example:

Did Jesus pay in full the price for our salvation? You may well answer, “Yes, of course!” Romans 5:18 says,

"Just as one offense resulted in condemnation for everyone, so one act of righteousness results in justification and life for everyone.”

Notice that because Adam sinned condemnation came to everyone. But the gospel is contained in the rest of that statement. Because of the righteousness act of one man, Jesus, justification and life came to everyone. Paul did not say that justification from sin came only to those who received Christ. He said that through one act, that is Jesus death, burial and resurrection, all were justified.

Just the same way we did nothing to receive condemnation even so we do nothing to receive justification. It was paid for on the cross by God, Himself. The blood of Jesus Christ was full payment for the sins of the world. There is nothing for us to pay in order to be justified before God. That happened on the cross.

What about what Paul said in Phill. 2:12, “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.”

The question here is what salvation is Paul talking about? Certainly not salvation from sin because that was settled on the cross by the blood of Jesus. Paul said in Rom. 12:2, “Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

The salvation Paul was talking about is the deliverance of our soul by the renewing of our mind and God works within us to help us to have the will to do His good pleasure. We are not alone in this process. Our mind, will and emotions must be transformed by the word of God. Then we will think and act like Him. This is a daily process as we mature in Christ. This gives us the life that Jesus said He came to give. As we learn more about His way of thinking the more we will enjoy His life that He came to give now!

To these and other questions I will share with you what has been revealed to me. I cannot cause these revelations to be yours. Only the Spirit of the Lord can cause you to understand these revelations as he sees that you are ready to receive them.
